Bitter Roots

Hebrews 12:15- Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble and by this many become defiled.

Can we identify

Bitter roots in disguise

Mistaken as discernment

Seen through deceived eyes

There is a danger

Having only one root

It will choke your walk

It will destroy your fruit

To avoid the dry places

The barren wilderness

Remove from your hard soil

The roots of bitterness

There's plenty of teachers

Throughout the church system

They prey on the weak

They hunt the victims

Hungry wolves show up

They wipe away tears

They speak the right words

For all the itching ears

You can choose self pity

Freedom or a fetter

Choose to be bitter

Or decide to be better

You alone make that choice

In every hard trial

Because those bitter roots

Many they will defile
