(A Tribute to Johnny Cash)

Today singers and musicians gain notoriety

But now we live in a Cash-less society

See today's music is mostly pop trash

We are missing the legend Johnny Cash

In his songs he was a teacher

He said more than most preachers

Words that sometimes warned me

The whirlwind is in the thorntree

To the arrogant he voiced a sound

He said God's gonna cut you down

If he were alive today would it be true?

Would he be banned from singing "A Boy Named Sue"?

Yes the world is missing the "Man in Black"

Substance in his songs he did not lack

And to some of his quotes I have to nod

Like "My arms are too short to box with God"

As this world continues to spiral down

Like Johnny said "the man will come around"
