Manna With Maggots

Exodus 16:19-20 And Moses said, "Let no one leave any of it til morning." Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. 

Manna saved is not manna earned 

Storing up manna is not what Israel learned

With God's people it was manna see manna do

With the manna they got lazy to pursue 

Man oh manna they lost their focus 

They did not listen or give heed to Moses 

They wanted God's manna-fold blessings 

But with the manna they were transgressing

Yesterday's manna bred worms and stank

Everyone around seemed to draw a blank 

The people were suffering from manna-gitus 

It is a common form of spiritual arthritis 

From reading His Word we cannot take a vacation

This is not a guilt trip or some kind of manna-pulation

If we do not daily seek Him we have to come to terms

What we have gathered in the past will soon be full of worms
