Pillars of Salt

"Remember Lot's wife"

I hear in my spirit

Yet many people today

Still refuse to hear it 

Lots wife heard the angels 

But she chose to turn back 

She didn't want suffering

A life where there was lack

She chose the comforts of Sodom

In that dark and crucial day

She chose to cover her ears

Though she knew the right way

She had her roots in Sodom

She wanted to get her fill

And she turned to her own way

She foolishly chose her will

When she turned her eyes back

And took her hand off the plow

She left God's protection

Living in the here and now

Today if you look you'll see

Pillars of salt sit in church

For God's perfect will and way

They no longer go and search

We must stick with God's plan

In obedience do not halt

Or you might not even know

You are a pillar of salt
