A testimony that came out of the Joplin tornado on May 22,2011. 24 people huddled in a beer cooler in a convenient store. Everything in the area was leveled to the ground, except the beer cooler. In the cooler a few people offered up some desperate prayer and they were heard.
Years ago in Joplin, Missouri
On a calm May day
A tornado paved its way
An F-5 in all its fury
People took shelter in a beer cooler
A few people to Jesus prayed
As the walls around them swayed
The destruction could not be crueler
Endured the F-5 roaring sound
But the cooler was left standing
Everything else leveled to the ground
When they emerged and looked around
I'm sure they gained understanding
Answers to prayer today still abound
