Sometimes in waves of grief
The waves are overwhelming to your soul
They can shake your strong faith beyond belief
At times they take their toll
Suddenly there's relief
But then soon comes another breaking wave
You're consumed with another wave of grief
Struggling to be brave
Intervals can be brief
Wave trains ranging from minutes to hours
They will propel you towards dangerous reefs
Fearful of their powers
But waves will dissipate
Tsunami waves will not last forever
With God's destiny you still have a date
Though His Word will sever
Grief comes in tidal waves
God remains faithful in our time of need
He is a deliverer who still saves
His Spirit will still lead
