Antarchy

The birth of ants in my home
I don't know where they enter
But I know where they roam
This insect problem needs to be addressed
As they crawl on my floor
And make my home their nest
These worker ants are not alone
Marching in my house
Secreting their pheromones
I am sure some are young and some are of old age
But I don't want to think
About the ones at the larval stage
I stare at their head, abdomen and thorax
But I have to wonder
Can you kill them with borax?
I spray my house perimeter
As inside my house
I spray them with vinegar
But in the vinegar they just swim
They look like they are doing laps
Like they are at the gym
These invaders are driving me insane
As their war march sounds like
Crackling cellophane
This invasion turns my floor black
With their antennae raised
I am officially under attack
This frustration is understandable
As they chew through everything
With their munching mandibles
In my kitchen I see my foe
Suddenly I feel a squish
As one is smashed by my big toe
I flick it off onto the floor
Then I look down
And there is over a hundred more
I am heading to Lowe's to buy some traps
Because if I don't deal with these ants
I am for sure about to snap
