Volcanic Lillies

These flowers thrive when others struggle

Blossoming in a climate of trouble

Blooming in a place of opposition

Thriving under turbulent conditions

On steep slopes and in valleys they rise

They bloom on the hills and on mountainsides

Clothed in vibrant pink and snowy white

Out of the ashes they find the light 

Though the landscape be barren all around

These lilies push forth out of the ground

Out of the embers and out of the depths

These flowers thrive in the place of death
