John 2:15-16 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not make my Father's house a house of merchandise."
Jesus made a whip
But it wasn't whipping cream
He didn't make a pound cake
With a cute birthday theme
He didn't whip up mashed potatoes
Or some chocolate soufflé
He didn't whip up a mousse
And then give it all away
He didn't whip up a gingerbread
With butter and molasses
He didn't pray and multiply it
And distribute it to the masses
It wasn't a whipped frosting
It was a whip of cords
Some people don't want to admit it
This whip was the Lord's
He drove out the money changers
The tables He overturned and flipped
I guess you could call it
Jesus' miracle whip
We don't hear much about this whip
They say Jesus is too nice
But He was angry that His temple
Became a house of merchandise
Hello to the American church
As we are living out the dream
We might need the whip again
And I don't mean whipping cream
