Dedicated to the Westfield Shamrocks 7th grade boys basketball team
Twas the Rocks before Christmas and all through the court
Dom Curry was sinking threes even though he was short
Managers Jackson and Drake operated the scoreboard with care
As the team listened to Coach Noah and what he would share
The team was snuggled all snug in their beds
As visions of a county championship danced in their heads
A B team loss to Zionsville and their annoying trap
As Maddox on the bench ate cheese nachos for his snack
With sharing his nachos Maddox did very little
And then the next game he was snacking on skittles
While riding the bus there arose such a clatter
I looked back at the 8th graders yelling and wondered what was the matter
They all arose to their windows with such a flash
But around the 7th grade team I smelled this horrible gas
This disgusting smell, how could this happen
Some said it was T-bone, others said it was Gavin
When what to my burning eyes did appear
Was Coach Dell getting mad at that 7th grader rear
I don't blame him for being mad at what came out of that rump
He yelled "Before you boys ride the bus you need to take a dump!"
With that poor bus driver so lively and quick
Yet our team is rizz and bussin and totally sick
Creekside and Carmel and Riverside they came
But they all went home sad losing their games
Now Maddox, now Blake
Now Ben, now both Jacksons
On Andrew, on Noah
On Kellen, on Tyson
To the middle of the court, a half court shot for all
But it seemed only Declans shot would then fall
We appreciate the parents providing the pre-game dinners
And we appreciate Maddox with the Riverside game winner
We replay these games at night, us coaches stay up
And if I remember right Gavin might have missed one or two layups
Trevan glanced to the left, to the right and then to the hoop
Then he thought " I am wide open. I might as well shoot"
But then Avon almost beat us with that number 20 guy
But Ethan's dagger three reigned as it fell from the sky
And what in the film room shall we hear coach Noah plea
"Guys you cannot let Riverside part again the Red Sea"
Coach Noah exclaims you must leave it all on the floor
He also says "You are not in 4th grade anymore"
Soon on the court Jackson McDonald's swish came with a sound
As Jack boxed out and grabbed that rebound
Big Ben is a force to be reckoned with you see
And Andrew and Tyson will knock down another three
And then in transition Karson set the quick pace
He might be the only one who could beat Noah in a race
Against Zionsville, Kellen's bank three he hit with such poise
And Blake sunk that free throw in spite of Carmel's crowd noise
But those green Nike shoes sure look good on Pax
With our great defenders Tyler and Beckham that is how we roll
And Beckham next year might kick that 50 yard field goal
Blake and Jackson Hawkins on Point 4 will attack
And Luke plays great in the paint for he is a star quarterback
I heard Coach Noah exclaim as we now practice late at night
"Merry Christmas to all but come back in January ready to fight"
